This medication is used to treat certain types of breast cancer (such as hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer) in women after menopause. Exemestane is also used to help prevent the cancer from returning. Some breast cancers are made to grow faster by a natural hormone called estrogen.
Aromasin (chemical name: exemestane) is an aromatase inhibitor approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat: postmenopausal women diagnosed with hormone-receptor-positive, early-stage breast cancer after they've taken tamoxifen for 2 to 3 years to reduce the risk of the cancer coming back.
When is the best time to take AROMASIN?
Take AROMASIN exactly as your doctor tells you. Take AROMASIN 1 time each day after a meal. If you take too much AROMASIN, call your doctor right away or go to nearest hospital emergency room.
How long is Aromasin treatment?
It is often given to women whose cancer has progressed despite surgery, radiation, or other cancer treatments. The usual dosage is one 25mg tablet once daily after a meal. Most women take Aromasin for around two to three years. Doctors may recommend some women take it for longer.
Does Aromasin affect the heart?
There is some evidence to suggest that aromatase inhibitors may increase the risk of heart problems. Aromatase inhibitors are a type of hormone therapy used to treat breast cancer.
Does Aromasin raise blood pressure?
Aromasin is only approved for use in postmenopausal females* (those who have already gone through menopause). If you still have periods, your doctor may recommend a different treatment option for your breast cancer. High blood pressure. Aromasin may cause an increase in your blood pressure.
How much Aromasin should I take?

Is exemestane a steroid?
Like the aromatase inhibitors formestane and atamestane, exemestane is a steroid that is structurally similar to 4-androstenedione, the natural substrate of aromatase. Safety advice

Alcohol

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Vinbicel 10mg Injection.

Pregnancy

Vinbicel 10mg Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks.

Breast feeding

Vinbicel 10mg Injection is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Vinbicel 10mg Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Vinbicel 10mg Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Vinbicel 10mg Injection is recommended.

However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.

Liver

Vinbicel 10mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Vinbicel 10mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advised while these patients are taking this medicine.
